THE BUSINESS

-Where are you located?

Suga'Babies Bake Shop is a home-based bakery, located on the west side of Detroit. Address available upon ordering.

-What are your hours?

I'm open Tues-F, 9am-6pm and Sat, 9am-2pm. Pick ups must be done within those hours. Exceptions apply.

 

FOOD ALLERGIES

-Do your products contain nuts?

Suga'Babies Bake Shop is not a nut-free, nor allergen-free environment. For those with allergies, it is recommended that you use caution in coming in contact with products from Suga'Babies Bake Shop.

-Are you a gluten-free environment?

Suga'Babies Bake Shop does not yet specialize in recipes for gluten-free products.

 

THE CAKE

-Are any of your products sugar-free?

Currently, there are no sugar-free products offered.

-How should I store my cake?

Generally, cakes iced in fondant or with specific fondant decorations should NOT be refrigerated. Cake fillings requiring refrigeration should not be used in fondant-covered cakes. The fondant will melt due to condensation.

Cakes iced in buttercream or ganache do not need immediate refrigeration if they are to be served the same day; otherwise, refrigerate and then serve at room temperature.

Cakes with cream cheese icing and/or fruit must be refrigerated if not served immediately.

Each order is unique and storing instructions will be given at the time of receipt.

-How should I travel with my cake?

It is best to travel with your cake on a FLAT surface, such as the floor of the vehicle, and to avoid abrupt stops, pot holes, sharp turns, high speeds and anything that may result in your cake being damaged. Suga'Babies Bake Shop is not liable for any damage to the cake after pick-up and/or delivery. If your cake is damaged, please call and if time permits, an effort will be made to restore cake to it's original design. Restoration fee based on damage.

 

EVENTS AND ORDERING

-How do I place my order?

You can order by using the order form on www.sugababiesbakeshop.com, or by calling/ texting 248.587.7842.

-How far in advance should I place my order?

Due to the high volume of requests, please place your order 1 month in advance. Custom and wedding cakes may require more time, please place your order as soon as possible. Orders placed 7 days or less in advance are rush orders and are subject to a 10% rush order fee. There are no refunds on orders cancelled within a 3-day window.

-What if I need something today?

Everything is made to order. There's nothing pre-made awaiting sale.

-What are your payment methods?

Debit/Credit via invoice/ Square POS/ Zelle.

-What is your deposit and payment policy?

Holiday, Special Sale and orders $100 and less are paid for in full upon ordering. All other orders are secured by a 50% retainer upon ordering, and the balance is due 1 week before pick-up/ delivery date. If an order is placed 7 days or less in advance, the full balance is due upon ordering and may be subject to a 10% rush order fee.

-Is delivery available?

Yes, but is very limited. Please inquire. Delivery charges apply.

-I’m getting married/throwing a big party. Can I come in for a cake consultation/tasting?

A customized Suga'Box can be made available for parties of 50+ servings. Private tastings are available upon request. Please click here or call 248-587-7842 to order/schedule.

-What should I expect from my customized Suga'Box/ tasting? How much?

A Suga'Box/ tasting, is made to serve 2 people and consists of your choice of (up to) 3 cake/frosting/filling combinations to sample. Your choices must be provided one week prior to the tasting date.

Private tastings are scheduled for 60 minutes.

A Suga'Box is $45, and private tastings are $65. If you book with Suga'Babies, the paid fee is applied to your order, scheduled within a 6 month period (exceptions apply). This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Please call during business hours and give a 48-hour notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

If you are more than 15 minutes late, your pick-up/ appointment will be cancelled and your fee will be forfeited.
